Nicolás Oviedo-Dávila

Hi! I'm a PhD candidate in Economics at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and the Barcelona School of Economics (BSE). I did my MSc at the LSE and my MRes at UAB. Before academia, I worked in investment banking, private equity, and sustainable finance.

My research studies how to align business incentives with socially valuable outcomes. I work primarily on corporate finance and contract theory, combining theoretical and empirical methods. My recent work focuses on (i) designing incentives under information frictions, with applications to organizational structures and sustainable finance; and (ii) understanding how financial and ownership structures shape sustainable development. I also work on topics in networks, industrial organization, and energy economics.
